The likelihood here is that your ATIH 2016 Rescue Media does not have the necessary support for your boot drive, or this is using a SATA mode that isn't supported, else your Acer BIOS does not support booting from Linux OS media (often where UEFI BIOS has Secure Boot enabled).

The Linux media doesn't have support for RAID drives and may not have support for newer NVMe M.2 SSD drives.

If you have ATIH 2017, then the latest build version of this should have support for the latter.

If your drive SATA mode is set to RAID then you would either need to switch this (temporarily) to AHCI or else create the Windows PE version of the rescue media where RAID support can be injected into the media (using the MVP Custom ATIPE Builder tool).

Thank you Steve. The Windows PE version of the rescue media worked.

No RAID support was needed. It just worked.

The disk is MBR, also not SSD, so I doubt that UEFI boot was the problem.

Whatever the problem was, your swift response is appreciated.

Thanks again.
