Recovery from TrueImage 2013 backups

Thread needs solution

I have TI 2013 but would consider upgrading to Ti 2016 if I could be 100% certain that 2016 will recover from earlier version backups.  Installation of 2016 requires that versions earlier than 2014  be uninstalled before installing 2016.  Does uninstall of 2013 retain the log of backups for use in 2016?  Any advice would be appreciated because I have valuable backups of Weddings (I used to be a photgrapher) and must be able to recover from these if asked.

Mike, first please see KB document: 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions which states:

Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
on Windows

backups of Windows computers created with:
Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
Acronis True Image 2015
Acronis True Image 2014
True Image 2013 by Acronis

Next, you can still use your ATIH 2013 bootable rescue media (on CD/DVD or USB) to do an offline (outside of Windows) recovery of your 2013 archive data.

When you upgrade between versions of ATIH there is always the likelihood that your backup tasks might be lost due to the need to do a 'clean' install of the latest version of the product, but this would not affect your backup archives (.TIB files).  Information about your backup history is held in an Acronis database and this can change between versions.

Many thanks for replying so promptly.  It seems that TI2013 backups are useable in TI2016 so I shall probably go ahead and upgrade.
