Rename option only half useful

Thread needs solution

When renaming a backup, it doesn't rename the files on disk. Also, there's no way to see what physical file is associated with a backup, if it's been renamed.

Both shortcomings should be fixed, in my opinion. When the backup file is online, it should be renamed or at least user given the option to rename it.

User should always be able to see what physical files are associated with a backup (it should list all files in the version chain).

There should be an option to rename the physical files without renaming the backup entry. This would cover the case where a backup was renamed without the physical file being online. It also covers other use cases.

No one ever answered your post I see.  Nice !  I have the same problem and wondered if you ever found a solution? - Bill

Stephen,

You might want to submit your request for enhancements to Acronis via the feedback option.

http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/feedback.html

None of the options exist at the moment, but it is possible to click on the task option "open location" and view storage folder with all tib files created by that particular task--no matter what their names--unless you have moved the tib files.

Although it is not convenient, the script file and log file for a specific task does include the names of the tib files created by anyi specific task.

Stephen.  Thank you for the speedy reply!  I was so frustrated, having paid for this software and learning that it cannot do very simple tasks, I started looking for something else.  It amazes me that you can rename your backup within the app, but when you look at your drive the filename didn't change.  Very confusing!  Also it seems to want to call all backups the same name.  What ???

I have made only full backups with the app and today I tried deleting one of the backups (the only one that showed up within the app itself) and it ended up deleting every backup I had made for several weeks.  Crazy !!!!!!

Time to move on!

Again, thank you so much for the reply.
