Renaming backup

Thread needs solution

Hi, i have a little question for you. I used Acronis True Image 2016 BootCD for backing up Windows 10. I wished to name backup as win10.tib but it's named as win10_full_b1_s1_v1.tib, why?
p.s. is it safe to rename backup to win10.tib or it will demage sometning?

The added characters were p;ut there by the program and their appearance is mandatory. The user has no control.

No, don't try to rename them as it would confuse the program history file.

If each of these files will be a FULL DISK BACKUP so there is alwaiys only one file, you "might" be able to rename them and they still be usable.
The added name is an internal identification of the backups.
My advice is to set your own unique name at time of backup but do not change after backup created. The name window on the CD does also provide optons to add the date or time to the name.

I didn't want to open new thread so I ask here again. I always format partiotion before restoring a clone (which software do you use for that?). There are two items to recover, should I tick the second one (MBR and Track 0)? Check this:

Sorry for these noob questions, I must ask that because I'm a little unsure. I would really appreciate any kind of question and thanks in advance!

It sounds like you are attempting to restore a full Windows OS system disk image. If that is the case you need to restore all partitions or items as you put it contained in the backup image file.

I only checked one (NTFS (System) (C:)) option, as you can see in the picture and I succesfully booted PC and everything seems fine. Is it going to be a problem because I didnt' check the other one?

No I would say not. When you booted the new disk did it take longer than normal for Windows to start? To confirm, this is a Windows 10 install? Also, did you disconnect the original drive from the machine prior to booting the newly created disk?

It take normal to start. Yes this is a Windows 10 install. I don't undrestand this (Also, did you disconnect the original drive from the machine prior to booting the newly created disk?).

What is the original drive?

In your picture the screenshot indicates that you are recovering a backup image file to a disk. Did you recover to a new disk or did you recover to the same disk that the image file was created from?

If you recovered the image file to a new disk then did you remove the disk from which the image file was created from the PC before you successfully booted the PC as you put it?

If you made recovery to the same disk then all should be fine. If not, if you recovered to a new disk and you did not remove or disconnect the existing disk from the PC before you booted the machine chances are that the PC booted from that disk and not the new disk.

In that case the disk already contained the Track 0 MBR partition so recovery of the C: partition was successful and thus machine can boot. If you had done the same to a new disk this would not be true as the Track 0 MBR would need to be recovered in addition to the C: partition to have a bootable disk.

Which program do you recommend me for formating partitions (I want to partition my hard drive)? What if I want to restore it to the same hard disk but to another partition or partitioned hard disk?
