Renaming backup in ATI 2016

Thread needs solution

Tried to rename a backup file.  Selected the backup in the list, clicked on the icon to the right of the name, selected Rename and changed the name followed by Enter key.  The name changed ok in the list.  Next time I looked at the list, the name was back to the original.  Backup is a nonstop.  Can you not change the name of a noinstop baclkup or is this a known bug?

I notice that your Products: list indicates that you are using a trial version.  I am not 100% sure but name change may be disabled by default in the trial version as a number of features/functions are limited or do not work.  As far as I know the renaming of a Non Stop backup should not be a problem.  I have not seen any other posts here that would indicate otherwise.

Seems to me it is very difficult to evaluate a product when the trial version has features/functions that do not work.  In fact, it seems a bit rediculous when the trial has a built-in 30 day limit.

Raysaun,

There are ways to "extend" trials.  As a result, it is not uncommon for developers to place restrictions on some of the functionality as well.. especially when the product is capable of restoring the computer to a previous state, to inlcude a time just before the trial was activated.  If the offline media did not have restrictions built in, what incentive would users have to actually purchase the software then?  You are welcome to submit feedback through your online account and/or the application though and perhaps it will be considered by Acronis to remove such restrictions down the road though.

Hi Bobbo_3C0X1

I'm also having a problem renaming backups.  After upgrading to Win 10 I noticed that I was eligible for a free upgrade from ATI 2015 to ATI 2016, so I upgraded.

I'm trying out ATI 2016 and find that although I can rename an existing backup I get the same behaviour as Raysaun - the new name doesn't survive a close/restart.

As my version of ATI 2016 is the full version - I assume - I'm concerned about this.  Am I going to encounter other problems?

I would be grateful for any light that can be shed on this.

David,

Having a full version of the product exhibit such behavior certainly is a concern as to that particular function but should not affect the other functioning of the product beyond already existing known limitations.  Please use the in app feedback found in the Help section (open book icon) in the product GUI to describe your issue and send a system report to the developement team.  It will help them understand your issue.  You might not get a reply to your feedback but all feedback is read categorized and evaluated so it will be seen.  If there is an issue here then developement will kinow about it.

Raysaun, David, thank you for reporting the issue. We were able to replicate it on our side with Nonstop backups. Developmen team has been notified about this defect in the software.

This issue does not have any negative effect on other functions and features. You can continue running automatic or manual backups and restore from them normally.

Regards,

Slava
