Replace system disk by Crucial SSD on Portable PC

Thread needs solution

Hi all, I've a portable with a single SATA port. I bought a Crucial SSD supplied with True image. How shall I proceed to replace my system drive? I can get a USB-SATA cable to connect the SSD to my system but it seems that True image will create an "image" of my system disk not a clone thus I may not swap the disks. Thanks for your advice; Regards Patrice

The link below discusses the clone tool, review it throughly before proceeding.  It is recommended to create an image of the disk prior to cloning as a safety precaution just in case something goes wrong during the clone process.  For laptops/portables you must first remove the source drive from the device and replace it with the new drive then, attach the source to the device with the USB/SATA cable then, run the clone.
