Restore from NAS

Thread needs solution

I'd like to restore my system from a NAS backup, but I get the following message:

"Unfortunately it is possibly only to recover by Disks within selected recovery point. Learn More."

First, the Learn More is a silly link to how to backup, which does nowhere mention anything about this message.

Second, if it is not possible to restore from a NAS, why does the program allows to backup a system to a NAS.

If my PC crashes and my backup is on the same disk that crashed, it is very silly design.

Anyone knows how I can restore my (working) PC from those bakcup's?

Best regards,

Rinus

Hello Rinus, can you provide some more detailed information on the circumstances of this problem please?

What type of backup have you created on the NAS drive?

What type of restore operation are you trying to test here with the NAS backup?

Please see KB article: https://kb.acronis.com/content/46340 for actions to take if recovery fails.

Were you trying this restore operation from within Windows or using Rescue Media?

If testing in Windows, please check the Acronis Logs for the recovery action date / time - these can be found at
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs (this folder may be hidden on some systems).
Look for the service_* log files, these are in XML text format and can be read with Notepad.
Attach the log to your post if you want our opinion on what it says.
