Samsung 950 PRO NVMe support

Thread needs solution

Stan - this is a known issue.  These newer drives to not have driver supoort with the default linux bootable recovery media.  You will need to create WinPE for now.  Download the Windows ADK 10.1 in my signature and install it first (don't use the one recommended in the Acronis application - it's outdated now and buggy - Microsoft has replaced it).  Once installed, just run the bootable rescue media creator and select WinPE and Acronis will do the rest.  Your drive will then be found.

An update is expected this month that will bring driver support to these newer drives, but we don't know exactly when and are still waiting on it too.  In the meantime, WinPE is your best/only option for these drives at the moment.

Thank you for the reply however I am not running wondows 10 but windows 7, where do I download the Windows ADK 10.1 in my signature - what is in my signiture?

Thanks

The Windows ADK is not OS specific for installation.  I would stil use the Windows 10.1 ADK regardless of having Windows 7 installed as it provides the best driver compatibility and Acronis 2016 is compatible with the Windows 10.1 ADK for the WinPE creation.

If you make WinPE with a lesser version (links are also in my signature for earlier versions), it will not have the NVME drivers by default either and you'll have to much around with trying to slip the drivers in with DISM commands.  You'll save time and headaches, using the Win 10.1 ADK (ADK 6.0 according to Microsoft).

At the bottom of each of my posts are a bunch of links - this is my signature block...
