If the removable media is smaller than the estimated image - it may not be selectable due to not having enough space to support the image.  You should be able to navigate to folders and create new folders on removable media from within the Windows Version of ATIH or the recoverable media of ATIH.

Depending on where you are trying to save the image, Acronis offline media may not have rights to fully parse the path of the folder.  Make sure that "all users" have rights through the entire directory to where you want images stored to.  In most cases, I have a base Acronis directory for images on the root of my removable hard drive where I store images.  I then create subdirectories for different machines, and then different subdirectories in those for each image. However, the entire path has full access to "all users" from root to end so there are never any issues navigating any part of the directories while in Windows or from the recovery media.

Many thanks for all the replies will give it a try

Perhaps a more detailed picture will help. Work from the Explorer left pane to expose the dirctory tree access.

Work from Explorer left pane to access/open/expose the tree symbols.
