Schedule Backup & E-Mail Notification

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

i'm a user of True Image 2016 in german and i want to activate E-Mail Notifications by sending an email to a email adress like somebody@t-online.de or somebody@kabelmail.de . Why is it not possible to use a standard german email adress? It makes no differnce, if i set encryption to none or ssl with the right ports.

The next issue is, that i can't set a daily schedule backup with the following options: Twice a day 9.30 am and 5 pm. After saving this settings and verifying the settings it still show me 09.30 am and 00.00 midnight. Why?

The third problem is, that i configured an incremental backup with automatic cleanup. But my 1TB backup disk has actually only a free diskspace of 100gb.  Maybe next week my backup disk is full and than > game over ? Therefore i have to manually delete the backupfiles on my backup disk and start new. Thats no way!!! (There is only one backup configured!)

I just installed to the lastest version (Build 6571), but nothing has changed :-(

It seems, that there a a lot of bugs in this software.

I'm very disappointed about Acronis True Image 2016 and i think that it was no goog idea to buy this crazy software.

Andy, there should be no problem sending an email to any standard email address, German or any other country ISP.
The real issue here is that the Acronis products use a very old version of SSL which many ISP's now block - this has been reported as a security issue and follows on from the latest security changes introduced by Gmail that 'broke' email notifications.  If your ISP permits you, then choose TLS encryption with port 587 (please change in that order as TLS defaults to using the SSL port 465 when selected).

This is another known and reported issue within the ATIH 2016 GUI - when you set your twice daily schedule for 9:30am and 5:00pm, this is correctly configured in the separate Acronis Scheduler but the GUI does not show that this is so.

If you only have 100GB free disk space on your 1TB backup disk, then perhaps you are not understanding how automatic cleanup works?

You are creating incremental backup images which in turn are part of a backup version chain, i.e. you have a Full backup image plus X Incremental backup images in your backup version chain.  How many version chains have you configured to keep?

At a minimum, you need sufficient free space on your backup disk to hold 1 complete backup version chain plus 1 Full backup image for the next version chain to be created.  The automatic cleanup rules only apply after the new / next version chain has been successfully started by a new Full backup image.
