Scheduled backup does not work any more [solved]

Thread needs solution

Since a couple of weeks the daily scheduled backups don't get executed any more. Starting them manually however work without any problems.

The console log (see attachment) indicates that it "Failed to retrieve the backup list from Acronis Cloud" and furthermore "Ihr Abonnement ist abgelaufen" (your subscription has expired).

My backup routine has never involved the cloud where I also never have registered to. The program's license is valid and active.

OS: Win 10 / 1803

Torsten, the console log messages are most likely to be unrelated to your problem with your scheduled backup.

Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool from the Community Tools link in my signature - this will help you to look at the other logs that are involved here.

There are several possibilities for why there is a problem here:

The Acronis Scheduler2 service has been stopped or cannot start - you should check this via the Services.msc console.

The schedule entry for your task has been corrupted or removed - you could try removing the schedule by setting the task to be not scheduled, save the task change, then change it back to your scheduled time again.

Note: You can also try using the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool (link in my signature).

If the above does not help resolve this, then other options would include trying a Repair install of ATI - this is done by downloading the full installer from your Acronis account and installing over the top of your current application without uninstalling it.  Alternatively, try creating a new scheduled task to see if that would work?

Steve, thank you for your recommendations.

The Scheduler2 service was running, the change or recreation of a task has not helped, so I applied “brute force” by uninstalling ATI with then removing all remaining folders and (major) registry entries, reinstalled it and recreated my backup tasks.

Whatever has caused the problem, now the scheduled backups are working again!

Torsten, thanks for the update, glad that your 'brute force' method has worked for you for this issue.
