SD Card in Surface Pro 3

Thread needs solution

ATI2016 has trouble using my SDCard as a source for a backup. (Again, I'm trying to include the SD Card as the source to be backed up)

Sometimes when creating a backup job it doesn't see the SD Card at all... it only shows my C: drive.

However, occasionally, it will see the SD Card. When this happens, I select both the C: and D: drives to be backed up. But the backup job always fails with 0x000B03EC

Any thougths?

Hope this helps.

Basically, make sure the SD card is inserted before booting the Surface Pro 3 or it may not be detected if inserted afterwards

I have found the SD card slots on different devices to be unreliable as they often use USB 2.0 connectors and shoddy hardware which results in slow peformance that may drop out when pushed.  For instance, I have a USB 3.0 card reader and it reads a 32GB EVO SD card with about 27Mb and 18Mb write on my main PC.  Same card using different adpaters is about 1/2 that.  Same card in the build in SD card reader on my ASUS T200 is also about half that and sometimes disconnects and reconnects during large file copies.   You may want to consider getting a cheap USB 3.0 hub and using a USB 3.0 flash drive or USB hard drive instead of the SD card.
