sector by sector restore

Thread needs solution

I had been using acronis 2010 for a long time. i normally backed up the whole disk by booting into acronis using the usb boot key. i then did my whole disk sector by sector backups, including unallocated sectors.
i just used the acronis 2016 program. i saw under options, an option to do a sector by sector backup including unallocated space.
does this mean i no longer need to boot from the usb key to get the entire disk backed up sector by sector? in other words, can i now simply choose the options in the program without booting first using the acronis boot usb key?
Then, if my system crashes and i want to restore all of the partitions (which of course has whole disk encryption), i presume i still would need to use an cronis boot dik/usb key?
Thanks.

That option has been around for several releases.

I have never tried it.

Hi ck,
yes, you can create sector-by-sector backup right from the program installed in Windows.
If your system completely crashes and won't be bootable you can restore this backup using Acronis bootable media.

Thank you,
