Secure Zone Full, cannot add existing backups to ATI or Delete Backups from Windows Explorer

Thread needs solution

I use to used ASZ but from ATI2012, and I couldn't clean it then, and when I upgraded to Windows 10 I purchased ATI-2016.

I can't resize the ASZ, or delete specific backups. Now my Disc is Full, but I couldn't resize ASZ before DISC became full. I can Browse Backups using Windows Explorer but I cannot delete Backups using "Right-Click Remove", or add an existing backup to ATI-2016 from ASZ.

Using Secure Zone Tool, it shows the ASZ as a full Blue Line and has a RED-X on left side of Line (see attached).  What steps can I take to fix the ASZ? I want to delete it, but would like to copy some of the old Windows 7 TIB files first.

Robert, I don't use the Acronis Secure Zone personally for some of the reasons you have listed, but mainly because of the difficulties in controlling my backups etc.

In the ATIH 2016 User Guide: Error handling section, it has the following option for the ASZ situation you have encountered.

When the program encountered an error while performing backup, it stops the backup process and displays a message, waiting for a response on how to handle the error. If you set an error handling policy, the program will not stop the backup process, but will simply handle the error according to the set rules and continue working.

  • When not enough space in ASZ, delete the oldest backup (the preset is enabled) - We recommend that you select this check box when planning unattended scheduled backups to the Acronis Secure Zone. Otherwise, when the Acronis Secure Zone is full during a backup operation, Acronis True Image suspends the backup and requires your action. The dialog will open even when the Do not show messages and dialogs while processing (silent mode) setting is enabled.

Hello Robert,

In case you delete the ASZ and store backups on a standard disk partition, remember that you can still protect your backups. When defining a new backup task, options include per-backup encryption and password-protection. These security settings appear only for new backup tasks and cannot be changed for already configured jobs.  If you will have any questions about them - do not hesitate to contact us.
