Single Folder Recovery

Thread needs solution

I'm using True Image WD Edition, build number 18.0.6126.

I'm doing "Partitions & Disk" back ups using Acronis.

Playing around today with the last backup

I clicked onto one Folder in the "Picture" Folder & clicked Copy.

Then tried to copy this Folder to the "C" drive.

I got an empty Folder as a result!

So the question is, can you recover a single Folder?

Also what did I do wrong?

John, when you say that you 'clicked onto one Folder in the "Picture" Folder' - have you mounted an existing .TIB image and are browsing through the contents of the same, if so, did you check what contents were in the folder that you are attempting to copy?

My experience in these forums is with the full versions of the Acronis True Image Home products whereas your product is one provided by Western Digital with one of their products, thus I cannot be certain that you have exactly the same options as the full product would have.  Certainly in the full ATIH product equivalent to the one you are using (probably ATIH 2015 going by version 18..) it is possible to recover a single folder.

I believe you would need to select the contents of the folder not just the folder itself to copy it.

Thanks to you both for your inputs.

To explain perhaps in more detail.

I've got a full partitions back up which has got a v1.tib extention.

When I click on Folders/files under this I do not know the extention type as these are not stated. By clicking right on these I just get the message Open or Copy.

If, in ATI, I click on a Folder to copy & then go to Paste this into my "C" drive the Folder does copy but it is empty, & yes I've checked & there are files in it.

Also if I go within ATI onto a file within the Folder & copy it, I then go to the main M/c "C" drive & I cannot Paste it.

I've tried this with Files of Jpeg extentions &Odt extentions.Note the file extentions do show at this level within the ATI backup.

Any help as to what I'm doing wrong or lacking in skills will help.

Thanks

John, if we assume that you have the equivalent to ATIH 2015, then please see the documentation for this version at the following link and see if you can follow the steps shown for Recovery files and folders.
