snapAPI latest version for Win7

Thread needs solution

After at least one successful backup using ATI2016, I am now receiving 'failure to initialiize' messages and the snapman.sys driver is not in Windows/Sytem32/drivers.  I installed ATI2016 without removing an older free version of ATI ( came with an external HD); could this have caused a problem?  Should I just uninstall the older one?

And, where is the latest SnapAPI download for ATI2016 for Win7?   Is it safe to install this with ATI2016 already installed?

Thanks for your help!

John, welcome to these user forums.

I would recommend using the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link is in my signature below) to completely remove the older OEM version of ATIH, then reinstall your ATIH 2016 with the latest build 6571 version (you can download the latest installer from your online Acronis Account downloads section).

There is no separate download for the latest SnapAPI as far as I am aware - this would be installed with the product, though with ATIH 2015 and later, Acronis defaults to using the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) for creating snapshots.
