Snapman BSOD in every mode - how to fix?

Thread needs solution

All I did to get it is remove Acronis entries from Context Menu and now it is not possible to boot my PC in any mode due to Snapman BSOD.

I hold Acronis fully responsible for buggy software and I demand a concrete answer on how to fix my Windows  OS without any re-installing immediately. The usual RestoreHealth and ScanNow do not work due to Error code 50 when I am in elevated CMD in Advanced Recovery. Startup Recovery does nothing.

MonarchX, I feel for your pain, but please realize this is a user forum, so demanding assistance won't lead to much help as no one responding works for Acronis or is requred to help.  We do this on our own time because we like to help out.  If it is indeed failing because of this driver, have you tried starting in safemode yet?  That should allow it to boot up with just the necessary drivers and hopefully allow you to run the ATIH clean tool and (see my signature and follow the instructions in it).

I take it you don't have any actual backups to restore from?  IF so, that would be the route I would go.

If not, you can try running Universal Restore and generalizing the drivers and see if it allows it to boot after that (which in theory, it should).  If you don't have UR already, you can dowload an .iso of it from your Acronis account and burn to disc or convert to a bootable USB drive using a tool like RUFUS or ISOtoUSB.

Check to see if snapman.sys was deleted from C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. If it is not there, restore it from a backup.

If that doesn't help, you can also use regedit from a command prompt to load the SYSTEM hive from the Windows system and remove the snapman service. You should also remove the snapman upper filter. Look at the instuctions Acronis supplies with the cleanup utility to learn where to find these entries in the registry. The only difference is that you are in WinRE and need to load the system hive to be able to work with your Windows system. In regedit highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Then select File/Load hive. Then navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and select the SYSTEM hive. In the next window name the hive REMOTE_SYSTEM and click OKAY. Then you will find the hive in regedit under HKLM\REMOTE_SYSTEM. Then follow Acronis' instructions to remove the snapman service and snapman upper filter. When you are done, highlight HKLM\REMOTE_SYSTEM and select File/Unload hive to save your changes. Your Windows system should now boot.

After you get back into Windows, use the cleanup utility to remove TI and then reinstall TI.
