"Stop" button to dequeue blocking task doesn't work; hence can't backup
I've just installed a new backup drive, assigned it a new drive letter -- Y: -- and tried to make a maiden backup. I defined the new backup and hit "Backup now". Result though was merely "enqueued".
Clicking on other tasks, I found one that had "stop" as the only dropdown option. Maybe it somehow got enqueued and think its supposed to wait until I re-attach my old backup drive, referred to as Z:
The immediate problem is that clicking STOP has no effect on the old task, hence the new task never gets to run.
Is there a way to clean things up?

Charles,
Reattaching the old Z drive is a good suggestion if in fact that drive is still usable. Once attached attempt to allow the task that is enqueued to run. Once that completes you can then right click on that task and delete the task from the backup list which should prevent the the task from running again in the future. You will have the option when deleting to delete just the tass or the task and the associated backup file.

Thanks for the replyt FtrPilot.
I did re-attach Z: -- should have mentioned that -- but nothing good came of it.
I now recall once watching an Acronis senior tech clean up by deleting various files from somewhere within C:\ProgramData\Acronis. Anyone understand that area?
Thanks,
Charles

Charles,
1. In my response above, I failed to mention that the link provided is for ATI 2015. However, it does apply for ATI 2016.
2. With regard to deleting files...I have seen information regarding earlier versions of ATI and deleting the file Archives.xml. Here's a link for an explanation by Enchantech.

I have not seen anything for ATI2016. I do know that Acronis have changed the file format...no longer an xml file. For ATI2016, there is are multiple Archives database files in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database folder, which you have probably already found. But how to proceed would be quesswork and not approved by Acronis.
I am not sure if any of this helps.

This link may be what you are referring to.
Clean up history by Acronis support Anna Trifonova
Performing the actions stated inside the link will require all new tasks.

Also, do be sure that the Scheduler/Advanced settings option "Run only when idle" is NOT checked.

Thanks folks. It seems I'm back in action. I appreciate very much the responses and sharing your expertise with me.
GroverH yes, your link is roughly what I recall seeing, and great to have.
By luck though I didn't even need to do that -- somehow the combination of rebooting my computer and/or signing on/off Acronis and trying to delete the offending task eventually deleted the offending task. Possibly helpful was the fact that, while trying to delete the offending task, Acronis reported that a 4th link in the chain was not found (I don't think it ever existed.), and perhaps it subsequently decided best to remove the chain/task from the active list. Dunno.
