Stopped doing back-up

Thread needs solution

Hello,
 

How are you?
I've got a problem. I have external drive under Bitlocker. After connect it to PC and opening by password I can't do back-up. Please, see attached screen with an error.
May I ask you to help me with solution, please? May be have you some command to restart your program and all of it's services?

I have no direct experience with using BitLocker but from your description, it sounds as if Acronis was already active before you unlocked the external drive and still remembers it as being encrypted.

I would recommend exiting from the Acronis program, verify that you can explore the contents of the external drive in Windows Explorer, then restart ATIH 2016 and try the backup again.

I can't find the thread, but there is another user reporting the same behavior for an external bitlockered drive.  It looks like the Windows 10 Anniversary update may have changed the behavior ACronis was programmed for regarding bitlockered external drives and is not detecting that they are unlocked.  Using Steve's advice, once the external drive is unlocked, if you then open up Acronis, does it make a difference?  If not, please submit feedaback through the application with a system report.  I will post this thread in the MPV forum as well so that it hopefully receives a bit more attention and with your system report, may provide a fix or work-a-round more quickly.
