Suddenly cannot load Main Menu

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis 2016 build 6613 for a long time without issues on Windows 8.1. The screenshot will best illustrate the problem which suddenly started. I have not changed anything on my computer recently. I tried repair, and then un/reinstall of Acronis to no avail.

Thanks

expat, this seems like a strange problem for your ATIH 2015 software and given the steps you have already tried, I can only suggest doing a full clean install of the software which requires an additional step between uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

First, uninstall ATIH 2015 normally via the Control Panel > Programs & Features option.

Next, download the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below in my signature).  Run this as Administrator then restart the computer to complete the cleanup actions.

Finally, install ATIH 2015 again.

Note: Using the Cleanup tool will remove all your backup tasks and task history information.  You can save a copy of your backup task configuration by saving a copy of the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder content - this will contain a number of .TIS files which store the task configuration details.  These are XML text files and can be opened in Notepad or any other text editor, and where the task name is shown near the top of the file inside <display>....</display> brackets.  You can restore these files back to the same folder after reinstalling the software, but will need to reconfigure any schedule details for the tasks as this is not stored in these files.

Hi Steve,

I had also tried the Revo uninstaller which did not solve the problem, but your cleanup tool did.

Thanks, Peter

Peter, thanks for the feedback and glad to hear the problem is solved.
