[SUGGESTED ENHANCEMENT] Archive Management Tool

Thread needs solution

The user interface is OK when managing one or two backups archives, but to manage multiple backups archives it is not up to the task.

What is need is a tool that makes it easy to modify the Backup DataBase; remove multiple backups; add multiple backups. The latter would require a search function for *.tib files, preferably with the option of searching a particular directory (location), including subdirectories. There could even be an option to delete the associated *.tib files when removing a backup from the data base.

additional thought: There should also be an ability to 'classify' backups as part of a single backup task. This would be the case where there is a series of single version backups that were created manually with the same backup task.

still trying to understand it, I am obviously too tired. Can you elaborate again what you mean with multiple archives?

Sorry Karl, I had 'soggy brain' yesterday and was definitely not at the top of my game.

I should have said 'backups' rather than archives. My brain treats 'backups' and 'archives' as interchangeable. I have corrected the post.

No problem Ian. I think I understand your post now, but it would be also helpful if you could make a screenshots with comments or draft something in this regard, as I think the request is still complex. Well not the request is complex but rather the way you intend to use ATIH.

From my point of view when I manage more than one backup I may or may not see them in the task pane in ATIH.

I tried to sketch your idea and hope I understand it correctly, added some of my ideas I had in this regard. Please tell me if this reflects your idea you had.

However I am not sure if Acronis wants to extend the UI as the primary goal in the design process was to keep it plain. The features I had in mind could be helpful but may conflict with the approach of a simple UI.
