Syncing Data with Local folders and external Hard Drives with TI2016

Thread needs solution

I have been using TI 2014 and I use the sync feature very much and I use it to sync data with some of my external hard drives. I understand that this feature was taken out for TI 2015 which was a dumb move. Making a new release is going forward and not taking useful features out. Does TI 2016 has "Sync" feature because without that I will not be buying the 2016 version. Any help in making my mind will be appreciated. Thank you Cyrus

Both ATI 2015 and 2016 have a sync feature. I suggest you apply for a trial version of ATI 2016 and then download the user manual which should outline how sync works on ATI 2016 - it is in section 7 of the user guide. Syncing os only to be available with the ATI 2016 Cloud.

Cyrus, sadly enough File Sync is removed from TI2016.

I use this feature as well in TI2014 and if i install TI2016 on my desktop computer i will use Directory Opus for those tasks. Not as convinient as TI2014, but it has a great sync function as well. You have more control of the syncs with directory opus.

I also use DirectoryOpus for this purpose ... have done so for many years.

Sadly enough, some moron at Acronis took the feature out because they were not using it. I will not be buying TI2016. I wonder sometimes how they make decisions. Dumb Dumb.

Roger, thanx to you and Ian L for your help in making me decide fast.

Agreed. I upgraded to 2015, was very disappointed and got my money back. Thanks for confirming 2016 is no better. When I need to upgrade backup software I will be looking elsewhere.

I was trying to Sychronize my complete backup from external, only to discover that this feature is no longer available. This is bad!

Jaime, welcome to these user forums.

Please use the Feedback tool in the ATIH 2016 GUI Help section to pass on your feelings about these types of changes to the Acronis developers.  This is purely a user forum and very unlikely the developers visit very often, if at all.
