TI 2016 always stops at 99%

Thread needs solution

I've just upgraded from TI 2010 to 2016 in preparation of Windows 10.
True Image 2010 worked flawlessly for many years on this system.

1. Un-installing TI 2010 via the Control Panel resulting in a 'Unexpected Error' and a spontaneous reboot. Afterwards, Windows did not longer start.
I had to manually disable all Acronis services (which should have been uninstalled) via the safe boot in order to make Windows start again. Unsatisfactory. I then run the cleanup tool provided by Acronis to un-install the rest of the 2010 version manually.

2. Running the first backup (incremental, all disks on the system to an external hard disk) stopped at 99%. I tried it two times. It takes 6 hours to reach this point, then Acronis stays for several hours at 99%.

Acronis 2010 did the same job without any problems for years, on the same system and with the same settings.

Any tips from you users?
I must say that I'm less than impressed by both the performance of the un-installer and also of the new 2016 release. Since I'm still in the money-back phase I thinking about switching to another product.

A backup tool has to be, always and first, reliable.

Something is obviously wrong. I would uninstall ATI 2016, run the clean-up tool (if you can find it; last time I checked the one for ATO 2016 had not been "released" - but that was a week or so ago). Reboot the computer and reinstall AT 2016; then reboot and try running a backup.

Thanks for your tips.
I had the same idea, un-installed everything (at least TI 2016 let me do the un-install without making Windows non-startable). I reboorted, re-installed, rebooted and then ran a full backup. This time it went through.

Unfortunately, I have many other issues with 2016. I can only barely read the user interface on my high-res monitor (4K), daily incremental backups take five times as long as with TI 2010 using the same settings etc. I already regret the upgrade. Unfortunately, this machine will be switched to W10 soon and hence I could no longer stick with TI 2010 - which did a great (!) job for years.

I'm currently looking at alternative products.
