TI 2016 build 6571 shutdown not working
I have my Acronis scheduled backup set to shut down the computer after completion, but this is not working. Instead, it indicates it is waiting for shutdown, and then says "Cancel shutdown". Pasted from the log:
15 True Image 6/8/2016 4:11:08 AM Waiting for shutdown
: ⎂Cancel/Sh⎂utdown/
16 True Image 6/8/2016 4:11:08 AM Operation has succeeded.
I've seen the 2012 forum post about this, and the suggestion for a fix by adding a batch file, but would prefer not to add a batch file.
I didn't previously have the backup set to do a shutdown, because I scheduled my Avast virus scan to run after the backup and do the shutdown. However, with the latest Avast program update their shutdown stopped working. They indicate that it is a problem with their program (they have great support!), and that they are working on a fix. Thus, I decided to run the Avast scan first, followed by the TI backup, and use the backup to do the shutdown. When it didn't work (this has been going on for a while), I thought perhaps the Avast running first was affecting things, so last night I did a reboot to clear the computer, did not have an Avast scan run, and just had the backup run. Still did not shut down. There are no issues reported in event viewer.
Does Acronis have a fix for this yet?

Thanks for looking into this - I've just sent the feedback.

Well, for the first time last night since I posted this issue a long time ago, I neglected to have my hard drives plugged in. Although the settings for the backup say to retry the backup 1x every 12 hours, Acronis was retrying every 9 minutes, until the computer was shut down after my virus scan. The virus scan normally runs after the backup is finished. I had 39 emails from Acronis this morning!!!

This behavior has been reported and is being investigated. Making sure that external backup destination drives are connected at scheduled start times should avoid the issue.
