TI 2016 is not working with Surface 4 Pro properly
I want to warn all Surface Pro 4 Users: The actual release of build 6569 of TI 2016 is not working with a Surface Pro 4. In previous version it doens't even work with NVMe and a bootmedium! Additionally it doesn't work with Surface Type Cover as keyboard and as mouse with buildin mousepad.
And at least you can't recovery within Windows, you can only recover with a bootmedium in build 6569, 6559, and you have to put in and additional external usb mouse and additional usb keyboard! So you have some trouble with only one usb port, where the bootmedium is used for booting. :(

Hi Steve,
thank you for your comment. I had already contact to Acronis Support, I reported this problems 4 months ago with all information and reports they needed. But I won't pay for additional support, when theses problems are clearly bugs!

Duplicate post from Michael...
Michael your statement is inaccruate.
I have a 950 Pro and have no problem making a backup and restoring to it with Windows 10 - I have done so several times (even with v6027 and WinPE rescue media, but now use v6569 since the default bootable linux recovery media has the drivers now). However, I always use the offline bootable recovery media for this purpose. If you have not done this, you need to be familiar with the process. You also need to be sure that you're backing up the entire Drive contents and not just the C: drive to make sure you are backing up the boot partition.

Did you create bootable media? If so, what process did you use (don't burn an .iso and tranfer to a USB - use Acronis to build it automatically)
What version of ATIH did you create your bootable media with? You should be using v6559 or 65569 for NVME driver support in the default Acronis bootable LInux media.
Can you even boot into the online recovery media or have you tried? If you can't get into the boot media you need to make sure you boot it in the same manner as your OS was installed (UEFI if OS was installed UEFI, or Legacy if it was installed as Legacy - surface pro should be UEFI by default). On the Surface Pro's you need to have secure boot disabled. You may also need to disable TPM to get bootable media to boot correctly. Then use your boot override to pick the USB drive and boot into it.

A normal PC is no Surface 4 Pro. ;) And I'm working as sys admin, I now how to boot from an usb device with a surface, I had Surface 2 and 3 before. ;)
With boot media is not the point (when you are not regarding that mousepad and keyboard from MS Type Cover is not working, also the touchpad is not working). A normal user on buisness and on the way can only recover via Windows, when there are some trouble, and this is acually not possible with Aronis TI 2016!

You are correct about the touch and mousepad not working. You will need to use a USB hub and a mouse keyboard with this device. This is a common issue with many touch devices - especially the surface pro 4 because it is customized and only drivers for it are available in Windows. It is not related to just Acronis either.. it is the unique drivers of the Surface Pro 4 (you can't install anything other than Win10 on this device - I've tried Win8.1 and touch does not work with it either as the drivers are specific to Win10).
You can try creating WinPE with the Windows 10 ADK and may get some functionality of the touchscreen and type cover, but I I have not tested with the WinPE yet.
The work-a-round for THIS device (again not Acronis issue) is to use a USB hub and external keyboard / mouse. It can be a wireless keyboard mouse such as a logitech unifying device, but you'll need to use the USB connection.
