TIH 2016 fails upon validation

Thread needs solution

I have started having issues with TIH 2016 (V5634) on Windows 10 Pro after MS’s Tuesday, Oct 13 updates. All scheduled TIH backups now fail with a validation error once the backup is finished. The backup then restarts again. This continues until the backup drive is full. My backup procedure is to keep the last 5 full backups. This issue has resulted deleting all of my valid backups while keeping all of the backups listed as having a validation error.

I have done the following without fixing the problem:
1 Re-booted the system
2 Ran the repair function on TIH 2016
3 Ran chkdsk with /f option on all disk devices...no issues reported
4 Rebuilt all backup jobs in TIH 2016

Problem has "magically" gone away. The only thing that I know that I did was to open one of the non-validated .tib files manually to see if that could be done. Both of my backups (the same ones that failed earlier) now work.

Problems with backup which do not validate have often been traced to disk errors or file errors of the data which is being backed up.

You might want to consider checking each of your disk partitions for disk errors.
