True Image 2016 and Name Attrributes

Thread needs solution

I'm a former Acronis user. I used True Image 2010 and earlier products for years, and tried to upgrade to 2013 when it came out but could not deal with the attributes in the archive file names, so I continued to use the 2010 version. With Windows 10, I have had to stop using 2010, and switched to a competing product for backups on my network.

There are still some things I liked better about True Image though, so I was wondering if the new version finally gives you the option to turn off the attributes in the archive names, so that the names can be what I want them to be?

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by attributes. Is the file semi-cryptic filenames? Like this one: C to F_full_b2_s1_v1.tib

There seems to be work-around as described here https://forum.acronis.com/forum/91956 if you want to have some more human-readable filenames.

I am not sure exactly what those b, s and v's implies. Something about the (b)ackup chain, a (s)lice - whatever that is - and perhaps a (v)ersion? I doubt you can get rid of those and still have TrueImage doing automatic cleanups, but I could be wrong.

With 2015 an 2016 the way the software names its archive files is even more limited than with 2013. Not only it imposes non customizable name suffixes (see Minimax's post above), but you cannot add the @tags like in the old version, except through a hack that consists in editing the backup scripts manually.
