True Image 2016 fails when backing up to Windows Share

Thread needs solution

True Image 2016 backs up the machine just fine to a NAS, however whem I try and backup the same machine to a Windows Server or Workstation share the backup fails after X% every time.   There are full write permissions to the share.

Garry,

Please download the log viewer app...

The service log should give us information on what is causing the problem.  Also, if possible, please post a copy of the service log.

If the backup is starting and failing at X percent, I suspect a few things

1) the remote share system is sleeping or hibernating during the file transfer, disconnecting the share - set both systems to "performance mode" in power management and see if the same still occurs

2) Also under power management, advanced settings, ensure that USB, hard disk and NIC are not allowed to enter power saving modes.

3) In computer management >>> device manager, check the USB, hard drive and NIC on both machines for an additional power management tab there too and disable power saving features on both machines.

4) Uses Lanspeettest lite to test your netwokr connection from the source to the remote computer share using at least 1Gb a few times and see what kind of speed you're getting.  If it is dropping very low you may be having network issues.

5) if using wireless, switch both systems to a physical network connection and try again (after disabling the power saving items as well)

See http://support.wdc.com/KnowledgeBase/answer.aspx?ID=3875 for a bit of screenshots, but this is just a partial.  Check hard drives, NIC's and UsB and disable power settings there, and then in computer management, device manager too.
