True Image 2016 Installation Restricted due to Windows Update 3033929

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I recently purchased Acronis True Image 2016 and am attempting to install on my Laptop.

When attempting to install, I get the following message:

When clicking on the Read More hyperlink, it takes me to this site: https://kb.acronis.com/content/56757?build=5576&distributor=1999954146&….

I regularally run Windows Update, but decided to attempt a manual install following step 1 from the acronis link. Unfortuantely, the standalone installer for KD3033929 states that is already installed as shown below:

Has anyone seen a problem like this before? It seems like the way Windows Update and Acronis check to see if this update is installed is different. Perhaps there is a way to force Windows Update to reinstall KB3033929 in case there was a problem when it was first installed or a file was somehow corrupted later, but I do not know how to do this.

Computer Details: Toshiba Satellite A660 running Windows 7 Professional, x64 bit, INTEL i5

Here is a link which describes the procedure to uninstall a Windows update for Win 7,8.  I think you are on the right track with attempting ton uninstall and re-install thie update.  Keep in mind that some updates cannot be uninstalled.  Those are updates which change Windows system files.  If you find that to be the case then you should open an admin command prompt and run this command, sfc /scannow.  Make certain that you insert a space between the c and / in the command.  This command will scan Windows system files and any found corrupt will attempt to repair.
