True Image Home 2016 crashes when any partition is selected to recover (Windows 10)
I am evaluating ATIH 2016 TRIAL Build 6534 which I downloaded today, (11/12/2015).
Update: I bought TI 2016 and did a clean install of Windows 10. The problem is still there as stated below.
The program crashes as soon as I check the box selecting a partition to recover. By the way, ATIH 2014 does not crash.
I also tried it on a clean Windows 10 install and it also crashed.
I made a YouTube video to show the problem: https://youtu.be/RfalbVSuKE8
Note: The partition I am attempting to recover in the video is not a system partition. It has some data and was created as a test. I also tried other partitions and got the same problem.
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel Core i7-3770K @ 3.5 GHz
16 GB RAM
ASRock Extreme4 Motherboard
OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 SSD (x2 = 265 GB)
3 Western Digital hard drives no more than 3 years old for backups and data storage.

Thanks Pat for your reply. I missed your comment and only now found it.
I did another clean install of Windows 10 and installed a licensed copy True Image Home 2016. I was using a trial copy before and I realized it wasn't suppose to restore because it was a trial. So, I bought TI 2016 with the belief the licensed copy would work. It didn't. Same problem! This clean copy of Windows 10 I am running now has never seen the trial copy of TI 2016 so there are no leftovers.
There are some files in the partition I tested so it never was totally empty as I said before. Also I tried backing up to two different physical hard drives but it still crashed TI 2016 at the instant I check the box next to the partition in the list to recover. (I'm sure the rescue disk would work, but that's not the point. TI 2016 ought not to be crashing.)
My old copy of TI 2014 recovers partitions just fine and can restore partitions even while running Windows. It will gather info and then reboot in order to complete the recovery. If I had any bad or corrupt partitions, TI 2014 would not work.
Since I am running a pristine copy of Windows 10 for testing purposes, it can't have a driver conflict. I looked at my UEFI settings and can't think of anything to change there. Anyway, I left a help request with Acronis, but don't expect an answer. I just hit the lottery and must have some hardware incompatibility. The way to solve it is to remove all unnecessary hardware and start replacing stuff. Unless anyone has any other ideas?

Hi David,
I do not know if you have one operating system, installed or more than one on your computer, but I found out something when I first began with Acronis 2015 then 2016. If the Hard Drive partition that it is backing up has File System Errors on it, no matter if minor or major, Acronis crashes. The problem with the Acronis crashes, it does not mention the condition of the File System as to whether it has errors or not. This leaves the User in the dark about why the program fails to work, when it crashes.
Run an Error Check / Disk Check or Scan Disk on the operating system, whether it saids it has errors or no errors. Run the same on the Hard or partition that you are backing up to as well.
Turn off / disable Turn on fast startup (recommended) by clicking on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" then uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended). Finally click on "Save changes".
And to keep Acronis from running when shutting down or Restarting the computer, Use Task Manager and End Task on Acronis's two Acronis Scheduler 2 and Aconis Scheduler Helper (32bit) processes.

Yes, I did submit a help request and Acronis sent it up the chain to their expert team. I shouldn't have said "I don't expect an answer" because they did take my problem seriously. I exchanged several emails with the engineers and gathered some system info about the state of the computer when the crash happens. Acronis said they will be working on a solution.

A crash is a serious issue, so when one encounters such a problem we are always interested in fixing it, so thanks for reporting it!
