Unable to extract files from a TIB

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I bought a copy of True Image ages ago (True Image 10 back in 2006).  I haven't used it in years and I'm thinking of upgrading to the latest version.  One feature I'm sure used to be there was the ability to open up a backup and extract files as desired.

I just tried this with the latest demo on Windows 10 by double-clicking the TIB file and then browsing to the files I wanted to extract.  I tried dragging them to another Explorer window but that just resulted in both the source and target windows becoming unresponsive (I've left them for two hours and they still show the spinning wheel mouse icon when I hover over them).

Is this feature still available in the latest version or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Charles

Yes, you should be able to copy and paste after double clicking the .tib and navigating.  I've not tried to drag out, but copy and paste usually works.  Alternatively, you can right click on the .tib file and "mount" it to assign it a drive letter and then use it like you would any other mounted volumen in Windows.

Depending on how much memory you have, or the location of your backup (like a network share instead of a local drive, or a slower usb 2.0 drive)  there could be some delay.  I have Windwos 10 Pro on an SSD and backups on another internal SSD and it is almost instant to repond.
