Update 6559 kills all windows explorer processes during update.

Thread needs solution

Be careful when you choose to update, I was moving backups via windows file explorer to a new hard disk when I started the update.

The black screen that resulted halfway through is a classic symptom that all the explorer processes had terminated, there was no warning and although the desktop recovered  the progess dialog box had disappeared. The files appear to be intact (it seems they only get deleted once all data is copied) and I just had to start the move again but this does seem a little bit risky behaviour?

I would recommend sending Feedback via the AIH 2016 Feedback Tool for this issue, this will go directly to the Acronis developers.  I suspect that this behaviour has been present in previous updates but your Windows Explorer move / copy actions have exposed it, so it should be fairly simple for the developers to recreate and hopefully put some checks in place for.

Done.

Hello edmunster,

Thank you for your message. The reason behind no confirmation prompt is "1-click installation", attempt to make installation process as easy as possible for most of users.

We have got your feedback regarding the program behavior.
