Updated Win7 to win10 includng true image 16

Thread needs solution

After the upgrade I tried to mount an image made under win 7 on a separate partition just to confirm true image operation. I got a message "Cannot initialize Backup Archive Explorer. Please reinstall True Image." plus some detail. I clicked Ignore & got "cannot assign a drive letter to a partition from the backup archive".

The version is Western Digital 16.0.5958.

Should I just install the current WD True Image? Should I just install over the existing installation. Will it be able to mount a previous image?

Robert, support for OEM versions of Acronis products is from the vendor of that product, i.e. Western Digital in this case.

Please see  KB document: 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products

If your version information is correct, then your WD product is equivalent to ATIH 2013 and is not supported for use with Windows 10 - only the ATIH 2015 product or later is supported for Windows 10.
