Updating to True Image 2016 (Windows 8.1)

Thread needs solution

I am writing here because I failed to find the answer anywhere else on the web.

I have got True Image 2011, which, as it turned out, cannot be installed on Windows 8.1. If I purchase True Image 2016 in the form of an update, will I be able to install it, or will it require 2011 version to be pre-installed?

Also, can anybody assure that True Image 2016 works normally under Windows 8.1?

Thank you in advance.

You don't need to have the older version installed, but you will need your older license number when you install the upgrade.
