The verification is running for over a day

Thread needs solution

I'm at the end of my free trial (three days left) and I need help with the verification process. When I first installed True Image I had verification turned on at it ran for hours after the backup. Not only that, it would fail and then run another incremental backup. After five of those failed, it would run a nother full backup. Needless to say, my backup drive filled up rather quickly. So, I set the verification to run once a month to see if that would help. As it turns out, the verfication on the first backup job (I run two backups) is still running after 36 hours (I've since stopped it and it is still in the stopping step). The verification I set up for the second backup job is no longer checked for whatever reason.

So, I'm wondering, what is going on here? Is it normal for the verification to run for over a day? If so, is it safe to run the backups without the verification step? Or, should I be looking for a different backup product? I'm considering unistalling True Image and seeing how Crashplan works.

Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just something that True Image does? I honestly don't know.

Thanks!

Pat, welcome to these user forums.

Verification should not take as long as you are reporting as far as I am aware - this would suggest that Acronis is encountering an issue doing this but difficult to advise what this might be without having more information from such as the Service log files that are created for each task.

Please download the Log File Viewer app from the link in my signature below and use this to take a look at the log files.

If you are still within your Trial product period, then I would recommend opening a support ticket with Acronis Support to get some direct help with this issue.

I don't personally run a validation after every backup - I rely mainly on seeing that the task has run successfully from the log files, plus will use Windows Explorer to open the backup files and do a quick & dirty check for various files and folders to check that I can navigate within the archive.
