You can add password to an existing task; my recollection is that you can add encryption.

There is no "backup protection" options in "advanced" in acronis 2016. Do you actually have Acronis 2016? if so, can you please confirm that it is there in your copy? I doubt it. Thanks.
I ask again, where can i password protect the backup in acronis 2016? i have been using previous versions of acronis for many, many years.

My mistake. I am very sorry. It seems tht once i tried doing a new backup, the backup protection popped up in the advanced settings. Once again, my apologies, thank you for your help on this.
All the best.

No problem. I beloeve that once a backup task is created it is no longer possible to set a password for that backup once it is created. Creating a new backup task will enable the password protection option for the new task.

It seems that the option disappears after first time creation .

Yes so it seems. I suspect you can add a password to cloud backup after they have been run - I am sure I have done so. But that may have been under ATI 2015 rather than ATI 2016.
It would be a useful enhancement if this feature were added.

Yes I think it's a very needed requirement. It's not even possible to see if a backup is protected or encrypted.

Same problem here, had to delete all my backups, before the Backup protection dialogue box reappeared, under Disk backup options, Advanced tab.
After creating a new backup, Backup protection dialogue box appeared on initial configuration.
Backup protection dialogue box unavailable for subsequent backups even if no password is set.
