Which Downloads Do I Run?
I just purchased an upgrade from True Image 2014 to True Image 2016. I was given two sets of downloads. One set is labeled "Acronis True Image 2016 Upgrade" and the other set of downloads are just labeled "Acronis True Image 2016". Do I install both, one or the other, and how do I know?

A similar question: The upgrade (from 2013 to 2016) says that I need a prior serial number. If I uninstall the 2013 version first will the prior serial number be missing? How will it know it's an upgrade? Or is that simply a separate input during the installation?
Also, this implies that the download link in the email isn't your suggested install method. Does that apply to the 2013 to 2016 upgrade, as well as the 2014 upgrade in the original question?

I registered BOTH key codes I was given. Is the name of True Image 2016 "True Image Cloud 2016"? I DON'T want to save ANYTHING to a cloud! I want regular back up software that I can use like Time Machine, only on a PC. Did I accidently upgrade only the stupid cloud version? The chat assistant is ZERO help! The confusing nature of this site boarders on being FRAUD!

Mitchell, you are fine to remove the 2013 version and should do so first. Your license key should be in your online product downloads - double check to be sure though. If you bought a "boxed" version, you would need to have that key if you did not add it to your account manually already.
Once you've confirmed you have your new 2016 key and your older 2013 key, then follow the recommended removal procedures from my previous post to clean 2013 off your system. Then install 2016 with your latest download from your account. After installing, when you put in your new 2016 key, it will then ask you for a previous key so enter the 2013 one there and you should be good to go. Don't forget to download and install the 2016 Media Builder Add-on tool and the Universal Restore media builder add-on from your account as well after you have the main applicaiton installed and licensed.
The email link you recieved is bascially the same one as you'll find in your account. I always recommend using the account link though as that will have the most current version, whereas the download link may not.

Thanks!
You included a suggestion to download both Media Builder and Universal Restore. I've looked around the website but I can't find anything that describes what these tools do. I see a lot of information about how to activate them, but nothing on why I would want to. Can you point me in the right direction to find out what these tools do?

highmarcs,
Please see the response I provided in your other post about the same thing. You are not forced ot use the cloud. You may have purhcased the cloud version and it could be a licensing issue to work out with technical support. Or, you purchased the correct non cloud version and that's why it's showing cloud expired. If you don't log into the cloud from your computer, there is no Cloud access. if you are not able to enter a registration key and it is requiring you to log into the cloud, you have the wrong version and I would request a refund and purchase the other one.

Media builder allows you to create offline bootable recovery media (.iso you can burn to disk or a bootable Usb drive). This is a critical tool you want to create and test for both an offline backup and an offline recovery (to another disk - don't overwrite your existing OS disk, but better to test this and know how to do it before something happens to your computer that might require you to do this in real life).
Universal Restore is the tool that will allow you to take an image created from one piece of hardware and push that image to another computer. It generalizes the drivers to Windows defaults so that an image deployed to different hardware will not bluescreen and fail to boot. There may be more to it though (don't try this with old computers as new hardware and OS technology is not always backward compatible, even though Acronis is capable of taking an image of one machine and pushing it to another one)
