Is this a new install?  If yes did you upgrade from a previous version or did you install fresh?  When you installed did you disable your anit-virus first?  If not that could be the issue.  you would need to uninstall the app and then reinstall it having first disabled your anti-virus.

A clean install is probably the way to go to make sure thigns are good. Remove from control panel then run the cleantool (see the links below in this post).  After cleaning, REBOOT.  Then download the full installer from your account.  Right click the installer and "run as administrator".  AFter the install, build new backup jobs and start fresh backups.  You can keep the old ones for posterity if desired and/or until your new backups have run long enough that you feel comfortable archiving them or deleting them.  FYI - if you keep the old backups, make sure to create the new backup jobs with UNIQUE names - don't reuse names for new backups if the same ones exist with old backup names already.
