Will not start backuip after cloning

I did a full backup of my hard drive with 2016 without any issues.

I then cloned to an ssd hard drive using acronis 2016. 

All worke dok and system boots and runs fine.

However,

I am trying to do a full backup and it just stays on the main screen when I say to backup now.

I have verified that the backup drive is there but still nothing.

Tried to create a new backup and save full backup infor then do backup now it just says retrieving information. I ran it for 45 minutes then cancelled.

Do I eed to reinstall acronis?
