Windows 10 Flashing after HDD clone to SSD

Thread needs solution

I cloned a 1TB  HDD (used 180GB) onto a 480GB SSD and had no problems until I tried to login a user session on the cloned drive. I then get a flashing display (only taskmanager will no flasH) so it is an application issue and I supect it is Acronis that loads by default after the clone.

Any suggestions how to solve this issue?

Computer is a 5 year old Dell XPS8100 with 8GB DDR3 Ram and an Intel i7 first gen CPU. Windows 10 was an upgrade from Windows 8.1. Windows 8.0/8.1 was a clean instal, not an upgrade from Windows.

Thanks for your help!

Did you perform the clone from within the installed Windows app?  If yes or no, you used the bootable Recovery Media as is recommended, did you disconnect the original (source disk) prior to your boot attempt?  This step is a must and is often the cause of such behavior.

if nothing else is working, you might also try taking a full backup of the original drive and then restoring the backup to the new disk.  The result is basically the same as cloning (same OS on a new disk).  However, it may produce a better functioning result if flashing is occuring after a clone and/or or the same behavior can be repeated from cloning again.  I never clone and have gotten in the habit of backing up and restoring instead as it has never let me down and results in the same thing, but also gives you nice backup with the most current image possible before doing any type of recovery or even a clone after the backup (just in case).
