Windows 10 Support

Thread needs solution

I just purchased a new Intel 535 SSD - As a part of the installation CD it directs users to the Acronis website to download the appropriate software to clone/migrate data to the new drive. However, the website does not offer support for Windows 10 users - so the question is which software would I download?

Second issue, in addition to the Intel SSD I also have WD Black Drive 2 that I use in my laptop(s). It seems that the version of Acronis that came with the WD Black Drive 2 only allows cloning of WD drives to WD drives. Again, should it make any difference as to what type of drive you are cloning while using the Acronis software?

Any suggestions on anyone of these issue would be most welcomed!

Thanks,

Ron S.

I don't have any Intel SSD's so can't say what software it comes with - are you sure it's Acronis related?  They do have a data migration tool on their site though.  It does not shows support for Windows 10, but I would imagine it would work fine if Windows 7 and 8.1 are supported to.  You would really have to test it out to see though or contact Intel for clarification.

I've not used the WD version either, but their site says that you just need to have one WD attached to your system to use the tool.  It sounds like as long as it can detect a WD drive, it should work.  Whehter or not one of those detected drives must be either the source or the destination though, I can's say though as that is not specified.  Assuming you are using a WD as either the source or the destination though, it should work fine.

From my experience these vendor migration tools will only work if the destination of the migration is one of their own drives.  If it is anything else the destination target will not be recognized (greyed out).
