WinPE USB Bootable Media

Thread needs solution

I am not able to create a WinPE USB bootable media; I am able to create the Acronis bootable media on USB.  I am not clear if WinPE on USB can be done or not, and if so, how to do it?  Every attempt results in "Failed to Write".  The drive is not locked in any way.

You may need to erase everything from the drive and reformat it as FAT32 for it to work. I have seen this in the past.

Thanks for getting back to me.  yep, i've done that... full format FAT32, always get to the screen shown, and no KB is linked to it.  It says:

Failed to create bootable media.

Failed to copy the product files.

Link to KB with error code

There is no error code, the link goes nowhere.

I had tried a smaller flash drive, 2GB, and the WinPE media builder appeared to have completed successfully.  But, it does not boot.  I had already tried the Linux based acronis rescue media on this smaller drive and my original larger flash drive, boots on both.  Is Acronis not able to create a bootable WinPE flash drive, and I just missed that statement somewhere?

The TI 2016 is a 64 bit WinPE. It will only boot in UEFI mode.

Just found and tried ISO to USB.  Burned a bootable iso of TI2016 WinPE to USB.  Booted to the flash drive, non-UEFI capable BIOS.  Simple and works.  Thanks for your interest and suggestions.
