Work around for shutdown hang

Thread needs solution

After the last lot of patch Tuesday (Jan 2016) updates for Windows 10, I have had no end of problems trying to shutdown my PC (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit)...the old Acronis waiting to finish issue...but we all know it never finishes...and only way to shutdown is hard power off PC....which is not a great outcome at all.

I have been using Acronis on a weekly basis to run a series of scheduled backups.

So the only way I have been able to configure things so that I can run the weekly backups and freely shutdown my PC at any time without Acronis preventing it is by the following:

- Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini - service set to disabled

- Acronis Nonstop Backup Service - service set to disabled

- Acronis Sync Agent Service - service set to disabled

- Acronis Scheduler2 Service - service set to Manual

All I do then is to Start the "Acronis Scheduler2 Service", let my backups run and then Stop the service. This works perfectly well and after numerous tests I can successfuly shutdown my PC without Acronis preventing this from occurring.

Looks like there is a "bug" in Acronis where the Acronis Scheduler2 Service is preventing the PC shutting down.

I have no scheduled backups other than the ones run once a week on a Friday.

There are no validation jobs scheduled.

BTW, this is making me look for a much better backup solution given the behaviour of Acronis

I have the same nagging issue.

Its a pitty that support ia only avaiable 30 days after purchase.

It should be available 30 days after purchase and 30 days after updates.

Now we can only hope that they solve this issue in the next update

The issue is being investigated, please review this thread: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/101330#comment-324612
