Accessing data on network drive
Hi I purchased acronis true image the other week and was pleased to see on the locally attached drive back up a simple structure that I could look through great.
For my network backup to my server however they are created as .tib files which cannot be accessed.
This is a disaster for me. The server obviously runs 24/7, all my work is backed up from the pc that has acronis on to the server, the pc will sleep when not in use so if I need stuff I used to just vpn into the server to fetch files from my mac. I used cobian backup before which did a great job of simply replicating the files over to the server.
Does acronis not have a setting to simply take the files from a and put them to b, without having very frustrating, proprietary locks in the way? I paid good money for this, cobian was free!

In reply to Gareth, welcome to these… by truwrikodrorow…

Hi there thanks for this.
Its not in particular an apple problem, when I VPN into my server, I then use remote desktop to see the server screen, the server does not have acronis on so those files are inaccesible.
Just for chuckle I went directly to the server int he garage, and indeed, those files cannot be opened.
All it needs is a little 'helper' on the server to be able to open the files, but I am guessing thats not something acronis will offer.

Gareth, the Acronis .TIB files are in a format restricted to Acronis so can only be opened using either the ATIH application or via the shell integration that the product offers dependent on the platform where it is installed.
As far as I am aware there are no little 'helper' apps available for server platforms to open these files.
