Acronis 2017 8053 MBR problem
Windows 10 with acronis 2017 8053
During a backup my computer was turned off
The result is the external drive which I used for all sorts of backups is now showing unallocated not initialized
How can I repair the MBR on the external drive without loosing my data
The first HD is ok so I can boot into windows
When I now turn off the computer it will show
Acronis is terminating the current operation please wait. The computer will be turned off in about 2 minutes
I have turned off any schedules in acronis

Does the Acronis termination finish or does that message remain?
If the termination completes and after the PC shutsdown detach the external disk. Restart the PC and once the machine is booted into Windows again attach the external drive again. If the drive is OK Windows should initialize the drive and give you access to it.

Have you tried rerunning the installation file (run as administrator) and selecting Rpair?

John, you may need to do a clean install of ATIH 2017 build 8053 if none of the suggestions made so far are helping you.
To do a clean install, first uninstall normally via the Control Panel if ATIH is shown otherwise continue with the next step.
Download the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature) and run this as Administrator to clean all residue of Acronis software - restart the computer to complete the cleanup action.
Download the full ATIH 2017 build 8053 installer from your Acronis Account download section and install this using an Administrator level user account.
