Acronis hangs at Set Location.
In the Recover process, everything goes well, until I last step. It has to find drive C: but doesn't and one can click on the New Location link, and locate the drive that way. The problem is, the program hangs at that screen. The mouse works, but to no avail.
Windows 10.
Thanks in advance.

I'd love to, but...
When I'm booting from a USB drive,to begin the process of recovering a disk, I'm out of the traditional Windows 10 OS environment, where I could access my Faststone Image Viewer to capture that image for you.
Any ideas?

The program will stall out at this point. (see attached image.) I can wait for an hour and nothing will happen at this stage, in the process

Dear Crime of the Scene,
Thank you for the update. Since it's a recovery problem, we would suggest contacting our support.

Unfortunately this is a known issue with rescue media in that the app can look to be hung with no progress indication shown for a very long time but will then come back to life again if you wait long enough.
If you can use the Disk option when doing the restore (select only the top Disk option) then all the further options are automatically selected and you don't need to set individual locations for partitions etc.
Please see forum topic: [How to] recover an entire disk backup - and in particular the attached PDF document which shows a step-by-step tutorial for doing this type of recovery / restore.

Is this a known issue that is persists to this day, i.e. even if I were to buy the latest and greatest version of the program, would this still happen? Given that a new bootable media would be made using the latest version.
Thanks

As far as I understand there has not yet been any great improvement to the rescue media application to make it more informative on progress status etc.
Acronis are meant to be doing a full rewrite of the application for the future version of ACPHO that should include the rescue environment but until it gets released for beta testing etc, we won't know what changes have been introduced.
