Acronis stuck
Ever since the most recent update of Acronis 2017 I cannot get the backup to work.
I am using Windows 10 and backing to an external drive.
When trying to backup, the process seems stuck on "Calculating time remaining" and no progress shows in the progress bar.
After about 12 hours I decided to "Stop" the backup and now it's stuck on "Processing" obviously not going to work after several hours.
Any ideas on what I can do?

In addition to Steve's suggestion, it is possible that the installation is corrupted. I have had this happen from time to time. This can be fixed by running the installation program again (make sure you use 'run as administrator') and then select Repair.

Repair install can be quite useful and the bolded note above is key. However, just simply logging on with an admin account is not sufficient. In order to "run as administrator" as IanL-S points out, you need to make sure to right-click the installer executable file and select "run as administrator" from there - even if already logged in with an admin account. This is the only way to give your admin account full admin access during installation - it's a windows UAC thing. Best to do this for any/all installs or uninstalls where you need to launch an executable to do this.
I have gotten in the habbit of running an elevated command prompt (CMD) to do this for .MSI installers as well since there is no right-click option directly on the .MSI files, but it will pass on the full admin from the elevated command prompt if you launch the .msi from the elevated command prompt. We don't see .MSI pakcages as much these days and doesnt' apply to True Image Home, but more FYI there.
