Acronis TI2017 Activation: it raises embarassing questions

Thread needs solution

(forum language is set to russian, but I see neither russian threads nor links to the russian forum)

I have Acronis TI2017 with an activation number, stored in my account.  I've been using TI back in 2017 but at some point, it was uninstalled.

The problem is that I can't activate TI2017 now - it's asking me for the second activation number ('enter the old serial number') and I don't have one and I think I never had.

From what I see in my email archive, it's an upgrade (Acronis True Image 2017 for 1 computer Upgrade (Multilingual)) and I suppose the previous version was bundled with a storage device. I had a number of HDDs in the recent past - OCZ, Kingston, Intel, Seagate, and HGST. Most probably it was Seagate: a file called "atih_SeagateDiscWizardSetup.exe" has been discovered, however not even a sign of the serial number.

Evgeny, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please see KB 1836: Upgrading from Acronis True Image OEM versions to Acronis True Image - which deals with your situation.

Thanks Steve!

Am I right and the only option is to install first OEM, then the upgraded version?

Any way to make it a bundle?

My understanding is that you would need to install the OEM then the install of ATI should overwrite it after finding a qualifying upgrade for your serial number.

No kudos on the forum? :(

Thank again and bye, Steve!
