Acronis True Image 2017 Problem with Shutdown

Thread needs solution

Hello Folks,

"Acronis True Image is terminating the current operations, please wait.  The computer will be turned off automatically in about two minutes."

This happens every time I boot the computer.  I do not have it set for automatic backups, and I went to StartUp in Task Manager and disabled everything labeled Acronis.

And the message is correct.  It DOES take two minutes to complete.

Any help would be appreciated.

JHK, welcome to these public User Forums.

There were known problems with "Acronis True Image is terminating the current operations, please wait.  The computer will be turned off automatically in about two minutes." in earlier versions of ATI that were meant to be fixed in ATI 2017 but reports were still seen from some users.

As far as I am aware, this issue is fixed with ATI 2019 that I have been using since the middle of last year but that is not a guarantee that some users won't still see this message under some circumstances, i.e. when there is actually an ATI task running in the background, or an issue carried forward from an earlier version of ATI via an upgrade path.

The options open to you are:

Download the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool (link below) and run this as Administrator, then issue the 'task zap' command in the tool window.  This will clean out all scheduled ATI tasks in case you have something left over from a previous activity.  If you have any scheduled backup tasks, you will need to reconfigure the schedule via the main ATI GUI options for those tasks.

Try a Repair Install of your ATI 2017 application - this is done by reinstalling ATI 2017 over the top of the current software without uninstalling it first.

Do a full clean install of ATI 2017 and start over by reconfiguring all your tasks afterwards - this is done by uninstalling normally via the Control Panel, then using the Acronis Cleanup tool (link below) to clean any residue, then restarting before doing the clean install.

Upgrade to ATI 2019.
