acronis true image active protection and config info

Thread needs solution

Hello

i got true image 2017 install on a windows 10 OS the new feature Acronis Active Protection not starting and also the true image monitor not starting

any one can help ?

also is there a way to backup my config befor uninstalling and reinstalling ?

Pierre, welcome to these user forums.

The first suggestion would be to try a Repair install rather than going for an uninstall / install again, as this may sort out any of the issues you are seeing.

To do a Repair, simply download the ATIH 2017 New Generation installer from your Acronis Account (this will give you the latest build #6206 installer) and install this over the top of your existing software.

In terms of backing up your backup task configuration data, you can save the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder contents where this is held in XML format files with the file extension of .tib.tis - you can open these files in Notepad to see what tasks they are for - look for the task name near the top of the file inside <display>my task name here</display> brackets.

Pierre, the C:\ProgramData\Acronis path may be hidden on your system, in which case you need to change the File Explorer view options to show hidden files & folders.  Check that you are not trying to look in C:\Program Files...

Are you running the installer (for the Repair) from an Administrator account and using Run as Administrator?

not hidden i see the acronis folder but not the script folder inside

and yes i run as administrator

Pierre, if you have created any backup tasks, then there will be a Scripts folder at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ to store the XML configurationdata for the task.  I have not come across any version of Acronis True Image where this is not the case.

Pierre, what Acronis Services are started on your computer? Please check that you have the Acronis Active Protection service both enabled and running as this is a prerequisite for the protection to work.

After confirming that the AAP service is running, then launch the main program and click on the Settings icon (gear wheel) in the left side, and then enable AAP from the settings options shown.

Pierre, do you actually have ATIH 2017 New Generation installed or do you have the Standard version - the Build number on the main Account page in the GUI will show which it by the number?  Build 6206 = NG, 8053 = Standard.

Click on the person icon in the left pane of the GUI, you will see version and build number.

Pierre, see the screen shot below from my computer plus you should also see Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation in the top border of the main GUI window - see second screen shot.

i was thinking that my version of acronis 2017 include the active protection but it's not the case so case close :-)

Pierre, thanks for confirming that you have the standard version of ATIH 2017 which doesn't have the Acronis Active Protection component.
